Project Goals: Each year AIGA Knoxville organizes a fundraising event to help an underprivileged school’s art program in Knoxville. Local professional artists and little artists alike donate pieces that are available for purchase at the Budding Creativity event, with all proceeds go directly to purchasing art supplies for a school. The branding would need to work in a multitude of media, including as a standalone brand mark, and a full logo.
Our Solutions: Creating branding to represent art is difficult, especially to try and find something that’s not been done a million times before. We went on the edge of that realm, crafting a piece that looked like a flower created out of stained glass. Utilizing thick lines, channeling our inner Draplin, to make sure the brand mark worked both large and small scale. We then carried that over to the type, picking a hefty face, and filling in with colors utilized in the corresponding stained glass piece.
Results: One of the best positives of event-based branding is that it carries over, continues to be utilized from year to year. Our Budding Creativity branding has now been used for four continuous years.
